The City Rises #004

The last show of 2009! And what better way to celebrate than jump on the ‘Best of’ bandwagon. It was an absolutely bumper year of music as far as we here at the City Rises were concerned, and since this show was cut short for reasons I will not go into, the only proper and right thing to do was ‘The City Rises Best of 2009 Part 2′ for our first show of 2010. Stay tuned for that one coming shortly. It should be said that with so many amazing songs, often from the same artists and labels, we choose some that are open for debate. Still with offerings from the likes of Zomby, Mark Pritchard, Dam-Funk, Mount Kimbie, Mike Slott, Floating Points, Samiyam, 2562 and many more, it can’t be too far wrong. We did *criminally* miss out on the amazing Joker, with only one ‘Purple’ cut on Part 2 from Swindle, however we will make up for that in the coming weeks. Enjoy!
