The City Rises #036

Rambl and new host Dan Dare together for the first time and didn’t we have some jams for you! Starting off with the awesome Shlohmo remix of Comfort Fit and Wonkybikez from Tokyo Dawn label mate, Swede:art, we kicked into some serious future beat styles before mellowing out a little with new jams from Matthew Dear off of his album Black City and Four Tet with a new piece on Soul Jazz records. We stepped up the BPMs in the second half of the show with a fantastic new jam from Ramadanman (he played it on the weekend, too!) called “Work Them,” a cut from the new Urban Tribe album, some unbelievable sounds from Charanjit Singh of India circa 1982 which sounds like proto acid house music, and fresh new biz straight outta chi-town with DJ Nate’s 160bpm half-time crunker, “Ima Burn Em.”
