The City Rises #108 with special guest Debian Blak

With winter closing in on the northern hemisphere is was good to place the focus on local music this week. New tracks from Naps, Galapagoose, Jacob Silver, Kane Ikin, Mike Kay & Ben Houghton and Kloke showing that Melbourne’s scene is as varied as it is productive.

We also featured our first international guest of the year, Debian Blak, who dropped by fresh from stepping off of a plane from the UK. Here to do an extensive tour to showcase his new album, A Hint of Menace, we chatted about the current state of music in his hometown of Leeds, production techniques, as well as the UK’s fascination with genres. He treated us to a great mix of his own material, inspirations and a few new jams as well. Nice.
